When doing research I found an abandoned island called the Hashima Island. It was an small, compact island that shut down after being used for mining coal for many years. What happened is that after many years of mining right outside of mainland Japan. Japan would switch their main source of energy which later caused the island to shut down and cause the population of the island to decline after once being called the "battleship island." It also seem that the Island was running out of coal and much of the weather conditions were really taking its tool on the island. There are many images and google earth 360 images of the island in which most of it can be seen as broken down and taken over by nature. At the islands peak it was home to a population size of 5,000 and once had the title of most densely populated place on Earth. Now its a deserted island with nothing but broken building and nature completely over taking it. The shape that the island is in causes some people to come and look at it and even shoot a scene of a movie on the island. The movie scene was from Skyfall a James Bond movie. The island can be seen by tourist but can be dangerous, the island even had some of its walls propped up so they would not collapse. Overall I think that this is an a very interesting island in which it gave an insight of what it was like living on a very small island.
