My Weekend 私の週末 わたしのしゅうまつ

Image
Summary: I start off by saying my weekend is boring. Then I say that I jog in the morning and return in about an hour. Next is about me gaming. I say I play video games and that I play a game call Multiverses in which I am a high rank at. I also mention while I am playing Multiverses I check to see if the twitch streamer I watch is live. Finally, I mention that sometimes I scrimmage Valorant on Saturday.  Overall my weekend is not to exciting at all. Its usually about the same as my day to day.

My Hometown 私の故郷 わたしのふるさと

Summary: The slideshow starts off by saying that I used to go to a video game store call GameStop. Then its mentions that I would buy games often there. I then say there are many fast food places there and that I would sometimes go there. After that I go to say that there used to be a video rental store and now there no longer is. Next is about a super market and that there was a big one. I also mention that the super market had many options for food in it. Next side says that there is a book store far away and that it would take a long time to arrive there. Finally I say that there is a  movie theater and that I would not go there often. To conclude there is a end slide that says end in both English and in Japanese.  Overall this is just a quick google slide to read that mentions places in a Hometown. I imbedded the slideshow up top on the page. I also wrote the slide vertically for it to read almost like a Japanese book with picture. I think that this...

Ethnography: Japanese Geography and Demographics

Image
When doing research I found an abandoned island called the Hashima Island. It was an small, compact island that shut down after being used for mining coal for many years. What happened is that after many years of mining right outside of mainland Japan. Japan would switch their main source of energy which later caused the island to shut down and cause the population of the island to decline after once being called the "battleship island." It also seem that the Island was running out of coal and much of the weather conditions were really taking its tool on the island.  There are many images and google earth 360 images of the island in which most of it can be seen as broken down and taken over by nature. At the islands peak it was home to a population size of 5,000 and once had the title of most densely populated place on Earth. Now its a deserted island with nothing but broken building and nature completely over taking it. The shape that the island is in causes some peopl...

Ch 6 Kanji Poster 今私月火水木金土曜何来週休

Image
I think that this is a good batch of Kanji. The Kanji 曜 can be annoying sometimes to write because the amount of strokes. I also think that 金 is interesting because it does not look like it relates to what it means right away. The Kanji 週 has some interesting radical inside to create the meaning of week. Overall I think these are good Kanji to learn because of how common they are used.

Ch 5 Kanji Poster 山川田人上中下小日本

Image
When looking at Kanji like 山 you can see that a lot of them originate from what their meaning is. This is very apparent when looking at the bone oracles which shows some of the history on how that particular Kanji was formed. Overall, I think that the bone oracles are interesting, and these Kanji are not that difficult based on how they look compared to what they mean.

Ethnography: Japanese Education System

Japanese Education Education in Japan seems to be very different from the ones in America but do have some similarities. Starting with some of the basics both America and Japan travel to a building  for school and learning  in classes. In America though it is possible to take school from home or online. Moving on to schedules it seems both have clubs, classes and lunch. In one of the video’s it mentions a clean time in Japan which America does not have. In Japan uniforms are required but in America they are not in public schools but are in private schools. In Japan it seems teachers are much more respected than the ones in America. Such as the underpayment America teachers receive but I am not sure about the pay Japan teachers receive.  It seems both countries value student learning but I wonder if there are different strategies for going about that. I assume both take tests and quizzes but I wonder how units and lectures are structured. In America many high schools have ...
